Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has acquired the gaming studio that created online “Dungeons & Dragons” and “Lord of the Rings” games. Terms of the deal between Warner Bros. and Turbine Inc. were not disclosed. The acquisition allows for Warner Bros. gaming division to develop additional online games, and provide new way to market and communicate with players, said Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group President Kevin Tsujihara. Turbine developed a social networking platform that integrates online communities with popular third-party social networks and a digital publishing platform enabling direct-to-consumer relationships, online merchandising opportunities and e-commerce functionality for online games. Turbine games include Dungeons & Dragons Online, Eberron Unlimited, and The Lord of the Rings Online. Mark R. Madler
