ValueClick Inc. added to its ability to serve the mobile advertising market through the acquisition of Greystripe Inc., a brand-focused mobile advertising network. Westlake Village-based ValueClick will pay $70 million for Greystripe and retain the company’s management team and employee base. Greystripe will operate as a subsidiary within ValueClick Media. The acquisition gives ValueClick immediate scale and expertise in the fast-growing mobile ad market that brings in $1.1 billion in revenues, a number expected to double by 2013. “We see great traffic and revenue synergies between ValueClick and Greystripe,” said ValueClick CEO Jim Zarley. Greystripe brings to ValueClick a proprietary advertising platform bringing rich media impressions to users of touch-driven devices through more than 3,500 application titles and mobile websites.
