Strong sales of semiconductor test equipment resulted in a net income gain for Trio-Tech International in the fourth quarter. The Van Nuys-based firm reported net income of $323,000 on revenues of $12.9 million for the quarter ending June 30. For the same period a year ago, the company had a net loss of $683,000 on revenues of $4.3 million. The improvement in the semiconductor test equipment had begun late last year and the increased backlog in the manufacturing segment and testing services segment provide a solid foundation as the company enters the new fiscal year, said CEO S.W. Yong. For the fiscal year ending June 30, Trio-Tech reported a net loss of $592,000 on revenues of $37 million. For the previous fiscal year, the company reported a net loss of $1.8 million on revenues of $20 million.
