A subsidiary of Teledyne Technologies Inc. received a $25.5 million contract to develop a small caliber weapon capable of hitting moving targets at extreme ranges and in high winds. The Teledyne Scientific & Imaging LLC will work with Alliant Techsystems, Cubic Defense Applications, Charles Stark Draper Laboratory, Elbit Systems of America, and Teledyne Brown Engineering on the maneuverable .50 caliber bullet, fire control system and ancillary subsystems. “This exciting system demonstration program is a key element of Teledyne’s strategy to support future armed service objectives for ultra-high precision and affordable guided weapons for the warfighter,” said Teledyne Technologies Chairman, President and CEO Robert Mehrabian.
