State Car Sales Revving Up

Registrations of new cars and light trucks increased by 13 percent in 2010 and a similar growth is forecast for this year by the California New Car Dealers Association. The association tallied 1.2 million registrations of new car and light trucks for 2010, with nearly 600,000 being from Japanese companies and 350,000 from the Big Three of General Motors, Ford and Chrysler. “We continue to see slow but steady improvement in the economy and in the new car market” said Association Chairman Steve Snyder, operator of a Chevrolet and Subaru dealership. In Los Angeles and Orange counties, new car and light truck registrations went up by 12 percent, to 377,000 over 2009. Mark R. Madler
