The Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development Corp. on Tuesday received a Gold Excellence in Economic Development Award during the International Economic Development Council Annual Conference in Cleveland, Ohio. The business expansion organization won for its 2016 “Still Golden Campaign,” which was entered into the Special Purpose Print Brochure category. The campaign incorporated brochures and videos depicting the Santa Clarita Valley as a place where companies can go to thrive. “On behalf of the IEDC board of directors and Excellence in Economic Development Awards Advisory Committee, congratulations to SCVEDC,” 2016 Board Chair Barry Matherly said in a statement. “Not only did they work to provide a necessary service to their community; but also, their participation in the awards program sheds light on their stellar projects which other communities can now use as a benchmark.” The International Economic Development Council is a nonprofit organization with more than 4,700 members.
