A nationwide study named Providence Tarzana Medical Center as the best hospital in California for vascular surgery and among the top five percent in the nation. The results were released as part of the 13th annual HealthGrades Hospital Quality in America Study, which is based on the outcomes of nearly 40 million Medicare patients over a three-year period. The hospital received five-star ratings for treatment of heart failure, pneumonia and sepsis, as well as for carotid surgery and peripheral vascular bypass surgery. “We have outstanding surgeons and an excellent supporting cast of anesthesiologists and ICU nurses,” said vascular surgeon Zahi Nassoura. “We have high-tech equipment and we’re building a new room for interventional procedures.” Providence Tarzana’s physicians have performed more than 100 endovascular repairs since its program began about three years ago and every patient has survived, the hospital announced.
