Paperless postal system provider Zumbox has partnered with GovDelivery to aid government agencies and municipalities in reducing the financial and environmental costs associated with sending paper mail. The partnership will have GovDelivery clients using Zumbox to electronically send postal mail, such as utility bills and license renewal reminders, for specific addresses. Westlake Village-based Zumbox connects large transactional, financial and government mailers to consumer households for the delivery and storage of digital postal mail online. For every U.S. street address, there is a corresponding Zumbox, and the service is available at no cost for citizens. Digital postal mail provides many benefits for government mailers when compared to traditional paper mail. Cost savings can be as much as $.60 to $1.20 per resident per month. The service also results in faster collections, significant increases in paper suppression rates, and better customer service, Zumbox said.
