Capitalizing on the popularity of lacrosse, Easton Sports has added a new division this year to provide lacrosse equipment. This is the first new team sport to be added to the Easton lineup since 1985. The new gear is expected to be in stores later in February. Easton, part of Easton- Bell Sports in Van Nuys, launched its lacrosse products at the 2011 U.S. Lacrosse National Convention in Baltimore. The new Easton Lacrosse division comes a year after Easton-Bell acquired Talon Lacrosse, the developer of equipment for player use at all levels. “Easton’s commitment to technology along with our respect for the tradition of the game is leading to lacrosse gear that players will value and love,” said Easton Sports President Chris Zimmerman. Lacrosse is considered the fastest growing sport in the country, with double the number of high school boys programs and triple the number of girls programs in the past decade, according to a survey by the National Federation of State High School Associations.
