Insurance underwriter Unico American Corporation has chosen Minnesota-based Wyde Corporation to launch a new policy administration system for its Crusader Insurance Company subsidiary, the Woodland Hills-based insurance provider announced. Wyde Corporation’s Wynsure product allows the company to begin using am Internet-based system for issuing policies, processing claims and performing other operations, said Lester Aaron, the company’s chief financial officer. Wyde Corporation, an insurance software tool provider and consultant based in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, will also support other subsidiary operations for the insurer. Work on the configuration and implementation of the fully web-enabled, open-architecture system just began, said Cary Cheldin, Unico American Corporation’s chairman and CEO. “Our selection of Wyde Corporation and of their Wynsure product is the result of an exhaustive search, which we began two years ago,” Cheldin said. “We believe that the Wynsure product is vastly superior to that offered by most other firms. The new system will replace our legacy system, which will be phased out over several years.” Unico American Corporation is an insurance holding company that underwrites property and casualty insurance through its insurance company subsidiary. It also provides property, casualty and health insurance through its agency subsidiaries, as well as insurance premium financing and membership association services through other subsidiaries.
