The Los Angeles Superior Court system will have its last planned furlough day on July 21 and resumes its regular five-day-a-week schedule in August. The court system had been taking a furlough day once a month since last July to help ease the budget crisis the courts faced. The estimated savings was calculated at $13 million. Limited services will be available on July 21 including statutorily mandated hearings, felony bench warrant hearings, filing of documents, paying fines and fees via a drop box, and requests for restraining orders involving stalking or threats of violence.
