Former StubHub Execs Raise $2.5M for Ticket Management Software Company

Spotlight Ticket Management, a firm that offers web-based software for corporate ticket owners and sports teams, has closed a $2.5 million round of initial funding. The round was led by Point Judith Capital, an early stage venture capital fund based in Rhode Island with sports television entrepreneur Brian Bedol contributing. Spotlight Ticket Management is the new venture of three former StubHub executives. The company’s CEO Joe Greiner, President Tony Knopp and COO Aric Haut all had executive sales positions at StubHub before kicking off Spotlight. “This infusion of capital will allow us to dramatically change the game in our industry,” Greiner said. “We firmly believe that Spotlight TMS is a mandatory new technology for businesses that will revolutionize the ROI for spending on entertainment tickets and events.” As part of the financing agreement, Sean Marsh, co-founder and general partner at Point Judith Capital, will join the Spotlight board of directors along with Point Judith co-founder and general partner David Martirano. According to the company the Spotlight Ticket Management product is now used by more than 1000 corporations like NBC Universal and Motorola and 20 teams in the four major professional sports leagues including the Miami HEAT and Chicago Bears.
