Harbor Freight Tools has opening two new locations as part of its plan to expand into new U.S. markets, the Calabasas-based discount tool retailer announced. “We are very excited to be opening new stores in Danvers, our fifth store in Massachusetts, and Downington, our 19th store in Pennsylvania, and delighted by the warm welcome we’ve received in both communities,” said Eric Smidt, the company’s CEO. On Feb. 11, each new store hosted a grand opening sale with select merchandise discounted by as much as 70 percent. As part of the stores’ opening ceremonies, Harbor Freight Tools made donation presentations to local nonprofit organizations. For the opening of the store in Massachusetts, the company gave more than $1,000 in tools and supplies to the plant science department of Essex Agricultural and Technical High School. In Pennsylvania, the company gave more than $500 in tools and building supplies to Habitat for Humanity. Harbor Freight Tools operates more than 340 stores in 45 states. Jessica Vernabe
