City to Study Light Rail in Warner Center Area

The Los Angeles City Council will apply for a state grant to study whether to have a light rail system or other internal connector in the Warner Center area of the San Fernando Valley. The $180,000 grant would come from CalTrans funds for transportation and land-use projects. According to the motion passed by the council March 30, an internal circulator in Warner Center would support additional jobs and conform to state laws to reduce greenhouse gases. “Such a system will improve service for current transit riders, attract new riders thereby reducing congestion and pollution and enhance economic development opportunities along with the quality of life in the West San Fernando Valley’s largest employment center,” the motion read.
