Cameras Roll Again for Vivid Films

Vivid Entertainment will resume filming this week after a voluntary stoppage when an adult performer tested positive for HIV. The adult production company made the decision after other performers who had been quarantined as a result of being exposed to the HIV positive performer were tested twice and the results came back negative. “We will, of course, continue to require recent test results for all performers in our movies and will continue to take all necessary precautions to assure their health and safety,” said Vivid founder and Co-Chairman Steven Hirsch. The Adult Industry Medical Healthcare Foundation in Sherman Oaks reported on Oct. 12 that a performer had tested positive for HIV. The foundation was not releasing the gender of the performer. Wicked Pictures, Digital Playground, and Hustler Video had also agreed to voluntarily stop filming. Although Vivid did not start any new movies while production was halted, the studio used the time to complete post production work on a backlog of previously produced films.
