The Valley Economic Alliance honored Westlake Village-based CallSource with its Valley “Economic Engine” Award for the company’s significant contributions to the local economy, the alliance announced. The alliance presented sales call tracking company with the award Wednesday, according to a statement released by the organization. CallSource recently hired 61 new employees, increasing its workforce to more than 170 employees with 130 of them working in the San Fernando Valley region, the statement said. The company also reinvested more than $10 million in capital improvement to its facility. CallSource CEO Jerry Feldman was recently recognized as the California Entrepreneur of the Year by American Solution’s Business Defense and Advisory Council, according to the statement. Feldman was responsible for helping start an initiative called “Pride America” to promote hiring veterans across the country. Two finalists of the Valley “Economic Engine” Award were Kaiser Permanente and The Beverly Garland Holiday Inn, the statement said. To be eligible for the award, each company must have made a notable contribution to the region’s economy and show commitment to the Valley through hiring and doing business within its region, the statement said. Each business also must be actively involved in an organization, such as a local chamber, charitable organization or a school where the company gives back to its community.
