The Center for Economic Research and Forecasting at California Lutheran University has joined as a contributor to the Wall Street Journal’s Economic Forecasting Survey. The Thousand Oaks school is one of six university-based forecast centers included in the newspaper’s survey. The paper checks in on a monthly basis with 60 economists from forecast centers, finance, business and nonprofit institutions who share predictions for gross domestic product, unemployment, home prices and other economic indicators in the short term and a few years into the f uture. Center Executive Director Matthew Fienup said his team there feels privileged to be included in the survey. “Our inclusion is validation of CERF’s outstanding track record of accurate forecasts and timely, clear-eyed analysis,” Fienup said in a statement. The National Association for Business Economics, Reuters and Pulsenomics-Zillow also include CERF in their surveys on economic policies and outlook and the housing market.
