Airline Broadband Firm Receives New Funding

A new round of $37 million in funding allows for Row 44 to continue its installation of satellite-based broadband connections aboard commercial airliners. The Series B funding is recognition by current and new investors of the opportunity presented by Row 44’s technology and its efficient use of capital, said company CEO John Guidon. The funding came from PAR Capital Management, which previously had invested money in the Westlake Village-based company, two new institutional investors, and Larry Kellner, president of Emerald Creek Group and a former chairman and chief executive of Continental Airlines. Row 44 is currently installing its broadband connection equipment on the Southwest Airlines fleet. Mark R. Madler
