On the following pages you will find 200 people we consider the most influential in our area – the San Fernando, Conejo, Santa Clarita, Simi and Antelope valleys. They are the leaders we depend on, the ones whose work – whether at the office or in nonprofits or in other ways –improve our community and make our local economy sturdier.
I’m often asked how we select these leaders. Having a big title – such as chief executive of a local company or mayor of one of our cities – certainly helps. But we also tend to select those who are active – and some on the list are consistently active – in professional, political and community organizations. We look for the leaders we turn to when some civic project needs dynamic involvement. In short, we select people who get things done.
This is the seventh year the Business Journal has produced the Valley 200. Over the years, thanks to the suggestions of our subscribers, we’ve added people. But there are still more to add. After all, leadership is always evolving. Kindly let me know of anyone you think should be included in next year’s book. I’m at [email protected], and I’m grateful for your suggestions.
