Profile of a CFO’s Multi-Faceted Role

Rob Clarke has been with the National Notary Association (NNA), where he serves as the chief financial officer, for 10 years. 

In this role, he handles all facets of financial reporting and analysis as well as cash management activities. Clarke excels in combining and integrating financial applications seamlessly, creating and implementing accurate reporting systems, overseeing production, manufacturing, operations and financials concurrently, and managing multiple lines of business. Under his leadership, the company has grown revenue by five times and has nearly tripled its team of employees.

Clarke also devotes time to the NNA’s corporate social responsibility initiatives surrounding environmental and sustainable business practices, responsible giving and maintaining employee work/life balance. He and the company demonstrate these values by fostering a positive culture for employees, embracing diversity, and supporting the community through a variety of charitable activities. The NNA team has stuffed backpacks with school supplies for the LAUSD Homeless Youth Program, provided financial donations for breast cancer research and awareness, offers paid employee community service hours and provided natural disaster relief assistance nationally.

Prior to sharing his business acumen and financial expertise with the NNA, Clarke worked for Andrews International (2006-2013), the nation’s largest private security firm with $400 million in annual sales. During his tenure, he was promoted several times, spending his last three years as the vice president of finance. His efforts resulted in the company growing from $90 million to over $400 million.

Clarke, an inactive CPA, received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting Theory and Practice and Management Information Systems from California State University, Northridge.
