Xytech to Facilitate NBC’s Broadcast of Tokyo Olympics

The division of NBC Sports Group that handles broadcasts of the Olympic Games has selected Xytech to provide software to orchestrate the logistics of people, equipment, locations and transmission feeds.The XXXII Olympiad in Japan from July 23 to Aug. 8 is the ninth consecutive time that the Chatsworth company is providing support to NBC Olympics in Stamford, Conn.Greg Dolan, chief commercial officer at the company, said that it understands that flawless execution of the transmission feed is important to the success of NBC Olympics’ presentation from Tokyo.“As a result, many people at Xytech dedicate large amounts of time ahead of the broadcast preparing for a perfect execution,” Dolan said in a statement. “During the Olympic Games, we are proud to have a senior implementation manager working alongside NBC Olympics throughout the entirety of the games.”NBC Olympics will use Xytech’s ScheduALL software to manage information and data, such as video router assignments and satellite uplink scheduling, and automatically pass the information to downstream systems to facilitate on-air coverage for each feed, the company said in a release.NBC Olympics and Xytech have worked together since the 2004 Olympics in Athens.
