ArcLight Cinema in Sherman Oaks is hosting a photography exhibit celebrating the work of photojournalist and Hollywood portrait photographer Mark Sennet. Titled “From the Mind of Mark Sennet,” the gallery features dozens of images taken during Sennet’s 28-year career at Time-Life, including shots of Hollywood icons Paul Newman, Steven Spielberg, Barbara Streisand, John Lennon, Tina Turner and Liberace. Sennet’s professional career took off after he photographed the attempted assassination of crime family boss Joe Colombo at the New York City Italian American Civil Rights League rally in 1971. In addition to Time-Life, he also held a position at the London Daily Express and did contract work for the Australian and New Zealand Tourist Boards before launching his second career as a film and television producer. The ArcLight Cinema at 15301 Ventura Blvd. will host the exhibit until Sept. 3, when it will relocate to ArcLight’s Santa Monica location. It will be on display there until Jan. 7, before moving to Arclight locations in Pasadena, Hollywood, Culver City and Bethesda, Md.
