Former Congressman Joins Salem Media

Former U.S. congressman and radio personality Joe Walsh will join Salem Radio Network’s national line-up later this month, Camarillo media broadcaster Salem Media Group has announced. The show will take place during the 9 p.m. to midnight EST slot presently occupied by author Steve Deace. Walsh served from 2011 to 2013 in the House of Representatives for the 8th Congressional District of Illinois. After losing his bid for re-election in 2012, Walsh joined Salem-owned radio station WIND-AM 560 The Answer in Chicago as the host of “The Joe Walsh Show,” a political talk show geared toward a Conservative audience. The Joe Walsh Show will continue to run on local stations after the new national program debuts on Feb. 20, Salem said. “From the time I left Congress and picked up a microphone, my fight has always been to get America back,” Walsh said in a prepared statement. “I’m excited and grateful to continue that fight, now with a larger microphone.” Salem stock jumped 60 cents, or nearly 10 percent, on Thursday to close at $6.85 on the Nasdaq.
