Banking & Finance Peter S. Linington has been appointed division sales and portfolio manager for the Glendale offices of Heller Current Asset Management. He will lead a team of executives responsible for sales, portfolio management and client relationships. Most recently, Linington was portfolio manager for Congress Talcott Factors. Consulting Randy Halle has been named president of Management Action Programs. He has been with the company for 22 years, and under his direction the company will expand into previously untapped industries and locations. Halle will work out of the company’s Sherman Oaks office. Entertainment Brett Crutcher was promoted director of operations and engineering at KNBC-TV Channel 4 in Burbank. He will be overseeing all engineering, technical and studio operations at the station. Crutcher has been with KNBC since 1986, most recently as manager of on-air and studio operations. Dexter Fedor has been named vice president of global brand development for Burbank-based Disney Consumer Products. Fedor will be responsible for developing and executing a new worldwide brand model and advertising program. He will also oversee the production of style guides for Disney’s film and television properties. Fedor previously was vice president and creative director at Hal Riney & Partners. Andrew J. Mandell has been named executive vice president for the Universal Studios Recreation Group’s design and development wing, Universal Creative. Mandell will be responsible for the division’s global expansion projects and new product development. Previously, Mandell served as senior vice president and chief financial officer of ITT Sheraton Corp., directing the company’s worldwide financial control activities. Denise Monden has been promoted to the newly created position of vice president of worldwide marketing finance for Universal Pictures. Monden, who will be based in Universal City, will provide financial support for both the domestic and international motion picture marketing department, as well as the domestic home video marketing department. She formerly was a corporate internal auditor. Karen Timpone has been appointed vice president of communications at Universal Television & Networks Group. Based in Universal City, Timpone will be responsible for all worldwide internal and external communications for Universal Studios television activities. She previously was director of communications and public relations for Seagram Americas. Corie Van Deutekom has been named director of international sales at Studio City-based Hamdon Entertainment. She will oversee the international sales of Hamdon’s new telefilm acquisitions, as well as its library, on a worldwide basis. Prior to joining the company, Van Deutekom was director of international sales at Mainline Releasing. Health Care Barton R. Wald has been named president of Huntington Provider Group, a UniMed-affiliated independent practice association. Wald joined UniMed last year as chief medical officer and senior vice president of medical affairs. Prior to joining UniMed, he served as the Southern California regional medical director for Health Net. Joseph W. Otto has been appointed vice president of marketing services for WellPoint Health Networks Inc. His primary responsibility will be marketing research services. Previously, Otto was director of sales, marketing and database management for PacifiCare Health Systems. Saliba Salo has been named vice president and chief financial officer for Northridge Hospital Medical Center. Salo previously was finance director at Glendale Memorial Hospital. High-Tech J. Spencer Davis has been named vice president of corporate communications and investor relations at the Woodland Hills-based Litton Industries Inc. He will play an important role in the implementation of company strategy to grow shareholder value. Most recently, Davis was director of investor relations at Computer Sciences Corp. Mark W. Stevens has been appointed president and chief executive officer of Woodland Hills-based JB Systems. Prior to joining, Stevens held the position of director of international operations at Densply New Image, International Department. Hospitality Walter Brindell has been appointed general manager for the new Hyatt Valencia. He will be responsible for the overall management and operations of the hotel. Prior to joining, Brindell was corporate director of rooms for Hyatt Hotels. Personnel Mark Lewis has been promoted to branch manager at the Glendale office of Robert Half International Inc. His responsibilities will include overseeing all operations, including training, hiring and establishing and developing client relations. Previously, he was corporate sales manager for Advo Advertising. In addition, Tammy Kathol has been appointed branch manager in the company’s Woodland Hills office. Kathol joined the firm in 1996, and has over 10 years of management experience. Dan Williams has been promoted to senior vice president and general manager in the Woodland Hills office of Lee Hecht Harrison. He will be responsible for marketing, sales and delivery of career services to organizations in the San Fernando Valley and Ventura County. Previously, Williams was general manager for Brink’s Home Security. In addition, Alex Wilson has been appointed senior consultant. He will provide specialized service to senior executives. Real Estate Kevin Tamura has joined Daum Commercial Real Estate Services as vice president. Tamura, who will be based in San Fernando Valley office, will specialize in all aspects of the sale and leasing of industrial properties, with specific emphasis in the San Fernando Valley. He previously was a commercial real estate broker with Delphi Business Properties in Van Nuys. Security Gregg S. Lamb has been appointed worldwide controller at Encino-based Pinkerton’s Inc. He will manage the worldwide aspects of the company’s accounting, financial systems and controls, and financial planning and reporting functions. Previously, Lamb was director of worldwide financial planning and reporting at Concurrent Computer Corp.
