Interlink Electronics Joins LoRa Alliance

Interlink Electronics Inc. has joined the LoRa Alliance, a technology industry nonprofit organization. The Camarillo manufacturer of touchpads and computer mouse products for rugged environments joins alliance member Semtech Corp., also in Camarillo, in helping to advance long-range, low-power wide area network, or LoRaWAN, standards. Interlink Chief Executive Steven Bronson said that joining the alliance gives the company the opportunity to take its competencies and product commercialization track record into products and platforms in the Internet-of-Things market. “Leveraging our 35 years of experience developing, manufacturing and integrating sensor technologies for a wide spectrum of products and applications, we are excited to work with fellow forward-looking companies to play an integral role in this disruptive technological paradigm shift,” Bronson said in a statement. Founded in 2015, the alliance has become one of the largest and fastest-growing groups in the technology sector. Its members collaborate and share expertise to develop and promote the LoRaWAN protocol as the leading open global standard for secure Internet-of-Things connectivity. Internlink made the announcement on Tuesday. On Thursday, shares in Interlink (LINK) closed down 10 cents, or nearly 3 percent, to $3.50 on the over-the-counter market.
