A joint venture that includes Great American Group will begin selling off merchandise from more than 300 Ritz Camera stores as part of the bankruptcy reorganization of the specialty camera and accessories retailer. Store closing sales begin April 4 at stores across the nation and will continue until everything is sold. More than 400 Ritz stores will remain open. Ritz Camera One Hour Photo in The Oaks in Thousand Oaks and Ritz Camera on Ventura Boulevard in Studio City are among the locations closing. Past Ritz customers and anyone with an interest in cameras or photography will fine brand-name products at greatly reduced prices, said Daniel Platt, senior vice president, capital markets, for Woodland Hills-based Great American Group. “Shoppers looking for distinctive and unique gifts will find these sales particularly appealing, as well,” Platt said. Great American has also handled the close out sales of Circuit City, Linens ‘n Things, Mervyn’s and Shoe Pavilion. Mark R. Madler
