Construction began this month and is expected to be complete by the close of 2013. The project will include 144,000 square feet of parking and 12,500 square feet of commercial space. STUDIO CITY DaBet Music Services is changing its business model to provide consulting services on the organization and evaluation of music catalogues, copyrights and income streams. The Studio City firm was established in January 2009 to promote the catalogues of established and up-and-coming musical artists. President Angela Rose White said she made the switch after realizing songwriters and publishers and their heirs often were unaware of song ownership and copyright issues. “Working with catalogs with long histories requires time, research and a method of organization and maintenance,” White said. WOODLAND HILLS Fireman’s Brew Inc. is conducting a private stock offering to raise $5 million in capital for an expansion. The Woodland Hills microbrewery, which makes three different types of beer and sells premium coffee beans and sodas, is offering 6.25 million shares of common stock at 80 cents a share, with a minimum purchase of 6,250 shares for $5,000. The funding round is open to qualified investors and institutions. The company closed a previous round of funding in May that raised $835,000, said Chief Operating Officer David Johnson. That funded an expansion in recent months that saw Fireman’s Brew reach agreements with regional distributors to widen its availability. “In the last two months we’ve expanded into Colorado and Illinois and now we’re expanding into Arizona,” Johnson said. “We’re working on a number of other new ventures, but we haven’t secured anything yet.” CALABASAS Calabasas ad agency Mile 9 is partnering with Pharmavite LLC, a dietary supplement and snack bar manufacturing company in Mission Hills, to promote a new line of supplements. Ventu Park Road in Thousand Oaks, was a former Holiday Inn that underwent a $2 million renovation. The rebranded 150-room hotel has an Irish pub and restaurant, a six-hole putting green and a spa with private cabanas. The hotel plans to cater to both business and leisure guests. It also will seek weddings and conference business. Rates run from about $100 to $260 per night. Hotel proprietor Harry Selvin is the owner of Selvin Properties, a commercial property management company in Westlake Village.
