Universal CityWalk is reworking its tenant mix and adapting to public transit even as it celebrates 26 years since opening. Essentially a walkway between the parking garage and the Universal Studios Hollywood theme park, CityWalk has become a destination of its own for regional shoppers and diners. “It was a pioneer in the world of experiential retail,” Professor Felipe Caro at UCLA Anderson School of Management told the Business Journal. “In hindsight, it was a good choice because now it’s well known that malls need a strong experiential component to compete with e-commerce.” Read the full story in the Oct. 28 issue of the San Fernando Valley Business Journal.
