Rudolph and Sletten, a subsidiary of Tutor Perini Corp. in Sylmar, has been awarded a contract to construct a replacement hospital building for Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital.
The new facility’s location on Lincoln Boulevard will allow the existing hospital to remain open during the construction, expected to begin next month and be completed in 2026, Tutor Perini said in a news release.
The new nine-story, 230,000-square-foot hospital will feature many or enhanced services and programs, including an emergency department with expanded diagnostic and treatment facilities, additional private rooms and state-of-the-art operating rooms, cardiac catheterization and gastroenterology labs, the company said.
The contract value, which wasn’t disclosed, is included in Tutor Perini’s third-quarter 2021 backlog.
Shares in Tutor Perini (TPC) closed up 11 cents, or nearly 1 percent, to $13 on the New York Stock Exchange on Friday, on a day when the Dow Jones industrial average closed up a fraction of a percent.
