Walt Disney Co. has teamed up with Target Corp. to launch 25 Disney stores inside select Target retail locations. The Burbank entertainment and media giant will unveil the store-within-a-store concept on Oct. 4. An additional 40 locations will open by October of next year. Bob Chapek, chairman of Disney parks, experiences and products, said that Disney and Target share a common vision to provide consumers with innovative experiences. “Our products help fans and families live the magic wherever and whenever they want,” Chapek said in a statement. “And we know the way consumers shop for those products is changing – so we’re making the magic easier to access.” Disney store at Target locations will have a layout of an average of 750 square feet, located adjacent to kids clothing and toys. There will be an assortment of more than 450 items, including Disney Princess, Star Wars, Marvel, Disney Junior characters, classic Disney plush, apparel, home and holiday-specific products. More than 100 products were previously only available at Disney retail locations. Items will range in price from $2 to $200, with many items under $20. Target Chief Executive Brian Cornell said the collaboration with Disney reflects the strengths of each company. “We believe the combination of Disney’s unmatched entertainment and storytelling with our omni-channel retail platform will create inspiring and unique experiences for our guests,” Cornell said in a statement.
