Applebee’s hopes to hire 10,000 people in a single day.
The restaurant chain owned by Dine Brands Global Inc. in Glendale will host a national hiring day event on May 17 to recruit workers for its 1,600 locations. Candidates who have an interview can receive a voucher for a free appetizer via a company app.
“Through this hiring initiative, Applebee’s and its franchise partners aim to welcome 10,000 new team members to their restaurants nationwide,” the company said in a statement, adding that the purpose of the event is “to make it easy for interested candidates to start their career at Applebee’s.”
Positions include hosts, servers, bartenders, cooks, dishwashers, managers and to-go specialists.
The company announced the initiative on Monday. Shares of Dine Brands Global (DIN) closed down $1.29, or 1.3 percent, to $97.67 on the New York Stock Exchange.
