Housing Hot For Sylmar

A mixed-use project with a large-scale residential component – featuring 132 one-, two- and three-bedroom units – has been proposed for Sylmar, according to city of Los Angeles records.Applicant Daniel Wishard, owner of general contractor Cal Creations, is developing the project, according to a Los Angeles Planning Department filing. Studio Archeon Group will design the project for Wishard.   Located at 14971 Foothill Blvd., the development, if built, will have units perched atop a 1,337-square-foot ground-floor commercial space and three levels of subterranean garage parking that will accommodate 143 vehicles.

The Sylmar housing market has heated up in recent months. Last month, it was reported that a 26,000-square-foot site at 13104 Glenoaks Blvd. would be redeveloped into eight apartments plus a café. In July 2019, a developer earmarked a parcel at 12663-12667 N. San Fernando Valley Blvd. for 56 residential dwellings.
