The Chatsworth company was founded last year by Alvin Joiner, better known by his stage name Xzibit, a rapper, actor, songwriter, television host and radio personality.
Naganuma served with the U.S. Army in Iraq in 2004 and was honorably discharged with the rank of sergeant in 2008. He used cannabis to treat his post-traumatic stress disorder, which inspired him to become an activist for cannabis and veterans.
He brings a strong team strategy to Napalm Brands as the military teaches that a shared mission is more important than self, Naganuma said.
“The Napalm Brands team has an opportunity to do something truly transformative, and while I am new to the cannabis industry, I am ready for the challenge my new role presents,” Naganuma said in a statement.
Prior to becoming chief executive of Napalm Brands, Naganuma headed up S3F Solutions, a manufacturer and distributor of gun-related gear, which he started in 2013.
