The Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce, along with other business development entities, are teaming up with PPE Unite to host a personal protective equipment drive for businesses in February.

The mobile PPE distribution event will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6 at the Westfield Valencia Town Center, 24201 West Valencia Blvd.

Thirty-day supplies of PPE gear will be distributed to eligible small businesses in Los Angeles County, SCV Chamber said in a statement. Supplies are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis — more than 12 million units of PPE are ready to be distributed.

“We are pleased to be partnering with PPE Unite, L.A. County Supervisor Kathryn Barger, Princess Cruises and Westfield Valencia Town Center to bring our business community free protective equipment to ensure they continue to operate safely and within regulations,” Ivan Volschenk, managing partner at Evolve Business Strategies, said in a statement. Evolve manages the SCV Chamber of Commerce.

Added Volschenk: “With the regional stay-at-home order lifted, and L.A. County following state guidelines, this event comes at a perfect time as our business community is once again allowed to reopen and need to ensure business owners, their employees and customers are all safe during this time.”

Other entities involved in the drive include the Los Angeles Small Business Development Center; L.A. County’s Workforce Development, Aging and Community Services; the County of Los Angeles Department of Consumer and Business Affairs; the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services; the Office of Small Business Advocate; the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development; the Vermont Slauson Economic Development Corporation and Logisticom.

PPE Unite, a statewide partnership between private and public entities, has helped more than 30,000 small businesses receive free PPE materials since its inception.
