Fitness Gear Firm to Sell Manual Chizl

Westlake Village-based Mobility Wall has launched its second product called the Chizl, a handheld fitness tool for muscle pain relief.

The Chizl has a tailored circular hand grip and three attachments; the wedge, the thumb and the cone, that offer different muscle treatments. The product is available for a pre-order list price of $44 and will eventually retail for $49.

Chris DiVecchio, Mobility Wall’s co-founder, said the priority with the Chizl was to create a portable treatment option that is operated manually as opposed to being assisted with electronics. “You can get much more accurate using manual therapy to find the areas that need really good deep tissue work,” DiVecchio said.

The $49 price point came after DiVecchio and his team studied the market. “I believe we were underselling the value of our products, because we’re trying to build relationships with our customer base,” DiVecchio said, adding that the company also provides education to its customers.

The Chizl will be sold direct to consumer via Amazon and the Mobility Wall website, but DiVecchio said that the company will entertain a traditional retail opportunity if the right partnership deal can be negotiated.

“We’re trying to redefine the whole mobility, soft tissue workspace, trying to make it more convenient and more easily attainable for people to build the habit of self-care,” he said. “And then aside from just the product itself, bringing (health) education to the market as well.”

The Chizl is expected to ship in January.
