Rank Gives BlackLine a Right to Brag

BlackLine Inc. was named a top 100 software company for 2021 by the Software Report, a source for market research and executive news in the software industry.

The Woodland Hills accounting software developer was ranked No. 20 on the list, alongside such companies as Microsoft Corp. in Redmond, Wash. at No. 1 and Salesforce.com Inc. in San Francisco, coming in at No. 17.

“Companies come to BlackLine because their traditional manual accounting processes are not sustainable,” the Software Report staff wrote in its description of the company. “BlackLine’s cloud-based solutions help companies move to modern accounting by automating financial close, accounts receivable and intercompany accounting processes.”Companies recognized by Software Report are selected based on nominations from industry professionals and company customers. Each company was evaluated on a number of criteria including software product quality, management team, organizational culture, company growth and overall company evolution, BlackLine said in a release.

“Software has become the backbone of our economy and the dominant industry of our time, and as such, we place a significance on highlighting the best companies leading the industry forward,” Software Report said in its introduction to the list.

BlackLine has nearly 3,500 customers with users in more than 130 countries.
