In an email to contributors and supporters, Fox expressed thanks for the website’s 12 years of political commentary and said he considered shutting down a year ago, but decided to wait until the November election.
“Co-publishers Tom Ross, Bryan Merica and I have kept F&H going over this time investing our own time, funding and staff help. With the election come and gone, and with no sense of additional resources to lighten our load after a dozen years, we have decided to close the site down,” he said in the email.
Fox served as president of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association for 12 years. He was a senior policy consultant for the Schwarzenegger for Governor campaign and a consult to the San Fernando Valley secession effort in 2002.
He is on the Valley 200, the Business Journal’s list of the most influential people in the region.
