Dole Food Co. Inc. has appointed Michael Solomon as president of Dole Fresh Vegetable, the Westlake Village company announced Tuesday. Prior to joining Dole, Solomon was president of fresh juice maker POM Wonderful, which is owned by Los Angeles-based food and beverage giant Wonderful Co. Before that, he served as chief executive of Ready Pac Foods Inc., which is also based in L.A. “Michael has built an impressive track record of strategic, operational and commercial accomplishments,” Johan Linden, chief executive of Dole Food Co., said in a statement. “He has considerable experience and knowledge of the fresh salad business segment.” Earlier this year, Dole owner David Murdock sold a 45 percent stake in the company to European vegetable supplier Total Produce plc.
