Hospital Gets $10 Million Gift

Providence Saint Joseph Medical center has received a $10 million gift from the Cusumano family, the hospital has announced. The donation will be used to enhance emergency and urgent care at the Burbank medical center. The Cusumano family has a long history of supporting the hospital. The family’s late matriarch, Anita Cusumano, was a volunteer at Providence, and family members have served on governing and foundation boards. The family has supported Providence’s Neuroscience Institute, radiation oncology department and family health care center among others. “The Cusumanos long have supported our hospital, enabling us to improve the care we provide for our patients,” said Kelly Linden, the hospital’s chief executive in a statement. “This very generous gift will allow us to serve more people in a more clinically advanced, comfortable environment, and with life-saving diagnostic equipment close at hand.” Michael Cusumano, who heads the Cusumano Real Estate Group in Burbank, said the donations will be used to build new facilities which will triple the capacity of the urgent care center.
