Salem Media Group will rename its hourly news show for radio stations in conjunction with the blog site Townhall.com, the company announced Friday. The Camarillo company, which owns radio stations, book publishers and websites targeting the Christian and politically conservative audiences, also runs a radio network with nearly 1,600 affiliates. These stations broadcast news segments under the Salem Radio Network brand. But the network’s top-of-the-hour news show will now carry the title Townhall.com. The website is a conservative blog that reaches more than 3 million unique visitors a month. “The new brand extension will allow us to better market the product for News and Talk stations, and we can’t think of a better partner than Townhall.com which is so respected and well-known,” said Salem Radio Network Senior Vice President Phil Boyce in a statement. Shares closed up 21 cents or 3.5 to $6.21 on the Nasdaq.
