Beau Boeckmann has been named president and chief operating officer at Galpin Motors, the North Hills auto group announced this week. Boeckmann, 44, will oversee the day-to-day operations of Galpin Ford and the 10 other dealerships under the Galpin name. Previously, Boeckmann ran the lots in conjunction with his brother, Brad, who recently retired. “While the two of us primarily operated the dealerships, with his retirement it now becomes mine,” Boeckmann said in an interview. The Boeckmann family has been involved with Galpin since 1953 when Bert Boeckmann, Beau’s father, went to work for Frank Galpin at his Ford dealership. His father remains active in the business as chief executive, and there are eight other family members working there full-time, Boeckmann said. Galpin Ford has been the best-selling Ford dealership by volume in the world for 24 years running, as well as having the No. 2 best-selling Honda dealership in the U.S. and the No. 3 Mazda and Volkswagen dealerships in the U.S., Boeckmann said. While keeping future plans close to the vest, Boeckmann said that the quick pace of the auto industry requires Galpin – as with any car dealership – to stay ahead of the curve. “We will be investing into the organization as we always have to improve the experience for customer and employees,” he said.
