ReachLocal Narrows Loss and Widens Revenue Gains

ReachLocal Inc. of Woodland Hills reported positive earnings and a 24 percent revenue gain in the fourth quarter. The online marketing company that serves small- to medium-sized businesses said revenue gains were driven largely by a 56 percent growth in international markets, which now account for a quarter of the company’s total sales. Income from continuing operations was $300,000 compared to a loss of $2.8 million in the same quarter last year. The company narrowed its full-year loss to $1.2 million from a loss of $3.6 million in 2010. ReachLocal reported year-end sales of $375.2 million, up 29 percent from $292.7 million. International sales grew 79 percent, said Zorik Gordon, CEO. “The global shift in marketing dollars from offline to online continues and, we believe, is still in its early stages,” Gordon said in a statement. “We intend to increase investment in 2012, focusing on our substantial global opportunities and our commitment to product innovation, which we believe will drive sustained revenue and profitability growth for the long-term.” Judy Temes
