Chief Medical Officer Named at Simi Valley Hospital

Simi Valley Hospital now has a chief medical officer, a new position. John Dingilian, MD, was chosen for the role by hospital President and CEO Darwin Remboldt, who made the announcement in early December 2011. Dingilian began his new role on Jan. 1. Dingilian, a family medicine specialist and the 2010-2011 chief of the hospital medical staff, applied for the position when it was announced in late summer 2011. In his new role, Dingilian is tasked with furthering communication between the administration and the medical staff, and serving as a resource for individual physicians within the medical staff. In a letter to the staff, Dingilian said he looks forward to improving the hospital’s computerized physician order entry program and initiating evidence-based medical practices. Dingilian will continue in his medical practice, which he has scaled back in order to fulfill his CMO duties. As with all of Adventist Health’s chief medical officers, he will participate in a formal executive physician training program and will become a member of the system-wide Physician Executive Leadership Council.
