EXECUTIVE SUMMARY / THE PACESETTER – Assisted Living Facilities

Download the 2010 SF VALLEY’S LARGEST ASSISTED LIVING FACILITIES list (pdf) EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The Assisted Living Facilities List is made up of senior care companies ranked by the number of assisted living units on each premises. Assisted living services are defined as residential communities that offer supervision and aid in daily activities. Depending on the company, miscellaneous health care is available or coordinated with an outside provider. While most centers offer care to the general public, companies such as the Los Angeles Jewish Home and Ararat Assisted Living specialize in the Jewish and Armenian demographic respectively. Each facility is regulated and licensed by the state of California. – By Josh Dausch THE PACESETTER This year’s top ranked assisted living facility is Grancell Village with 423 total residential units featuring assisted living services. Grancell Village is a campus of the Los Angeles Jewish Home located in Reseda. It is the largest multi-level living facility offering both assisted and independent living accommodations in the western United States. The Los Angeles Jewish Home also operates Eisenberg Village, a smaller campus in the area. Established in 1912, the Los Angeles Jewish Home was originally created as a haven for aging Jewish immigrants. It now has over 1,000 total residents spread over its two Valley campuses as it approaches its centennial year in 2012. – By Josh Dausch Download the 2010 SF VALLEY’S LARGEST ASSISTED LIVING FACILITIES list (pdf)
