Disney Interactive Touts New Offerings

A new interactive gaming community was announced by Disney Interactive Studios at the E3 Media & Business Summit taking place this week in Santa Monica. The unveiling of the DGamer community was one of several announcement made by the Burbank-based gaming company. Using the internet, players of Disney Interactive games on the Nintendo DS system can use DGamer to interact and chat with each other, compare high scores and vote in polls. DGamer launches in May 2008 “Building upon the robust, family friendly features of the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, Disney game fans, kids and parents will have an online community like no other to communicate in a fun environment,” said Graham Hopper, executive vice president and general manager, Disney Interactive Studios. Also announced at the E3 show were new Disney Interactive games based on Disney Channel franchise “High School Musical” and “Hannah Montana” and upcoming the feature film “The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.” Disney Interactive plans to invest $130 million in product development in 2007.
