Aida Keledzhyan, a 44-year-old entrepreneur, opened a Brightway Insurance agency in Van Nuys earlier this month, marking the agency’s third franchised location in the Valley region.
Brightway Insurance, The Aida Keledzhyan Agency is located at 13615 Victory Blvd., and is Keledzhyan’s newest business venture. She has nearly 20 years of experience in the property and casualty insurance space and previously worked for Farmers Insurance Group.
Keledzhyan’s path in the world of business is closely linked to the experiences of her family, who left their home during the fall of the Soviet Union more than 30 years ago. Her father was worried that Aida’s brother would be called into military action for a war between Armenia and Azerbaijan, so the family left their homeland.
Years after relocating to the United States, her father and brother founded and operated their own ice cream distribution venture. Meanwhile, Keledzhyan was able to devote her time to a college degree.
“I went to college hoping to be able to contribute to the business world myself,” Keledzhyan said in a statement. “The insurance industry just seemed like a great fit for someone like me who was surrounded by business and a community in need of that service.” She would go on to earn a bachelor’s degree in business administration from CSU Los Angeles in 2002.
Keledzhyan hopes to be able to service the Armenian community in Los Angeles County. “Helping protect our futures here in the United States is about the most important service I can think to provide,” Keledzhyan said in a statement.
Her agency offers customized home, auto, umbrella, life and several other types of policies.
Keledzhyan joins a large network of agencies. Brightway has more than 300 franchises in 29 states with $900 million in annual premiums. The company handles carrier relations and appointments, as well as support with personnel hiring, licensing, onboarding, training and retention.
