Hotel Gets Green Light in Woodland Hills

A four-story hotel will go forward on Ventura Boulevard in Woodland Hills, where 149 rooms are slated to rise after receiving approval by Los Angeles City Planning Commission. The site is at 20401 Ventura Blvd., between DeSoto and Winnetka avenues.Designed by North Hollywood design studio Architectural Dimensions, the project will be fronted by a ground-level café with patio. The 90,213-square-foot hospitality complex will also include meetings rooms, and 213 parking spaces on three subterranean levels. The hotel’s contemporary exterior boasts interlacing metal and limestone, with wood paneling and Mondrian-esque stained-glass window patterns.  No hotel brand has been attached this project as of yet. The applicant on city records shows 20401 Ventura, LLC, represented by Kamyar Marouni and Shahrzad Cohen. The pair acquired the property in 2016 for $6.6 million. Once the April-scheduled groundbreaking takes place, construction will unfurl across 19 months, with a tentative completion date of October 2022.
