Simi Valley Convenes Street Fair

This month marked the return of Simi Valley’s largest single-day community event, organized by the Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce. The annual Simi Valley Street Fair brought roughly 400 local businesses and an estimated 20,000 attendees to Simi Town Center Way on May 4 for along with artists, crafters and food vendors. The theme of this year’s event was “Street Fair at Sunset,” a nod to the extended hours of operation for the event’s beer and wine garden due to popular demand. Sponsors of this year’s garden were Camarillo’s Institution Ale, Moorpark’s Enegren Brewing Co., Westlake Village’s Westlake Brewing and Napa’s Kieu Hoang Winery. The event’s extension made festivities available for locals who work on the weekend. “We (had) about 40 more vendors this year than in 2018,” said Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive Kathi Van Etten in a statement. “This community event really showcases all that is great about Simi Valley, from our Simi Valley Auto Center to our local businesses and crafters to the city departments.” Van Etten has served on the chamber staff for seven years; she became chief executive in Janaury.
