Vintage Grocers to Close in Westlake Village

Vintage Grocers is closing its Westlake Village location resulting in job losses for 65 employees. The layoffs were expected to begin on or around March 20, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification the upscale Malibu grocer sent to the California Employment Development Department. The store at 140 Promenade Way had been opened for about two years. “The layoffs may come in stages, depending on the need for workers as the store closes,” the letter stated. “Vintage Grocers will permanently cease operations at this facility, and the layoff from Vintage Grocers will be permanent.” Also, Vintage has closed its location at the Palisades Village, which had been there for only about six months. Its Malibu store in the Trancas Country Market is now the only location still open.
