Simi Valley travel agency Dapple Destinations partnered with AmaWaterways in Calabasas to host a river cruise to raise money for Ventura County chapters of the Boys & Girls Club and Soroptimist International, according to the Acorn. Thirty local residents bought tickets for the November benefit cruise, an iteration of AmaWaterways’ “Melodies of the Danube” itinerary which takes travelers from Budapest, Hungary to Vilshofen, Germany. In all, the companies raised $8,000 to be split by the nonprofits. The benefit cruise is an annual event for Dapple and AmaWaterways — the companies raised $5,500 last year with a Rhine River cruise and will host another in 2020 following France’s Seine River from Paris to Normandy.
